Introduction

Election fever has started.  Its again a contest of what Scotland can do, and what Scotland can not do.

I am not going to sit here and preach this is a fair blog.  I am a nationalist, I support a free and independent state of Scotland I have spent nearly 40 years of my life living all over the wonderful country.  I have had many offers to move, but I just wouldn't want to leave friends and family and this great nation, I have been to every European country, many others world wide.  I've seen their good and their bad and I've seen this countries good and its bad, as well as the UK's good and its bad.

So let me set up who I am, and we'll talk later about what I will talk about later.

I support a free state of Scotland within a new Federal Europe.

This normally gets my english friends noses out of joint straight away.  "You don't want to be ruled from London, but you happy to ruled from Brussels?".  No! I'm not.

The present Westminster setup is dated and I feel sorry for my English friends who have been forced to take a government to pass laws supported by MPs from Scotland, of which those laws will not have any effect upon them or their constituents. Any one will tell you this is a dreadful way to be governed.

The present European Union is a mess.  We have a parliament who has little or no powers,  we have a commission filled with bureaucrats.  We have a nothing but a big waste of time and money.

These all need to change.

However their defense to a Scotland independent of the UK is that together we are stronger.  Yet imagine how "stronger" we would be if we were the United States of Europe?

I am a Nationalist not a racists.

This is not something new to Scot Nationalist, but unfortunately there are other "nationalists" that think being a nationalists means no to immigration, no to other people of different ethnic backgrounds, no to other religions or any other thought but theirs.  Scottish Nationalists is not like that all at.

We love our country and we love our Scots.  One of the things I am very proud of is our kings were not the Kings of Scotland but the Kings of Scots.  Everyone in Scotland is equal.

I traced my family tree some years ago.  My mother in laws family I could trace back 300 years, My mothers family I could trace back even further.  But my fathers, and fathers in law stopped in Scotland in the 1850's.  Very likely on religious grounds.  But I have a name which is very likely an Irish name, so I am a immigrant.  Where do people draw the line?  Grandfather? Father? or just want to be in Scotland.

I like the latter.  Be in Scotland, want to be Scottish then your Scottish.

I lean to the Right on the Economy .

I am a director of a company I started over 4 years ago.  I love the freedom that gives me.  I don't make much, times are tight, but I would like to see less taxation, less bureaucracy and better return for my taxes that I do pay.

I am very much in favor of the NHS, allowances for those that can't work, help those that don't and free education for students.  But I see so much wastage in Government, at local, national and European level.

I think rich should pay more, but I also understand that they make their money by not wasting it and they see their money just washed away.  We need to show the rich that their money is helping those that NEED help, not giving some suit a 200k job.

So this is my platform, I support my Party.  I agree with 90% of their policy, those 10 I disagree with I know I'm the minority and hence I support the majority, cause all in all, who knows who is right and who is wrong.
